According Reading Frenzy, where you can buy Pete ephemera:

To whom it may concern,

After a summer in which I washed dishes on a dinner train in Rhode Island, a seafood reastaurant on a pier in Connecticut, and a fancy pizza place in Florida; I washed my last dish at a cafe in Portland in August 2001. Three days later, I started school as an Urban Studies undergraduate. I plan to earn an Urban Planning master's degree and then work somewhere in the field of transporation planning (either in transit planning or bicycle tranportation planning).

The explanation for the change in my life is lengthy and will have to be written out in a future issue of Dishwasher or in a Dishwasher book.

For the moment, Dishwasher is on hold. I worked dishwashing jobs in 33 states (over 100 jobs total). I have a lot of things written but unpublished. I'll figure out what to do with it all at a later date. Right now, I'm just enjoying going to school.

Thanks for everyone who has supported my mission.

Sincerely,
Dishwasher Pete
