Inspire me! Where are your absolute favorite places to find incredible, unique interior and outdoor decorating treasures and bargains in Los Angeles (or online)? I'm looking for cool stuff to fill/cover walls, floors, windows, garden, patio, home office... you name it!
I LOVE finding bargains so the Rose Bowl and PCC swap meets are already on the list, as are other places... but I'd like to hear where you find YOUR inspirations! I'm dumping most of my old furnishings and will be designing my new living space *almost* from scratch. I tend to be drawn to things that are cool vintage or have slightly ethnic (asian, european, middle eastern) influences. When I'm done, without going broke I want this new place to feel like a really comfortable sanctuary where people love hanging out. :)

For an absolutely shameless plug, I run a blog called Consumer Whore that features the kind of things you describe.

I adore Apartment Therapy for all things design-related. They have contributers from LA, so they are always mentioning stores in the area that have great stuff.

Best answer: designsponge has a pretty awesome LA Design Guide. I don't know if this is too obvious since I'm not very familiar with LA, but on my last trip there, I visited Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice and the shops there were completely inspirational and drool-worthy.

Sense you don't mind the trip up the 110 to the Rose Bowl, maybe you won't mind the trip down the 710 to Long Beach and 4th Street. Lots of little retro shops there.
