Vague Music Question

Name that tune: Sounded like a Beyonce song, vaguely; the chorus sounded like the girl was saying "what it is"; pretty up beat pop music. I can try and be more vague. I heard the song at an Aldo, so it is probably some new popular pop music: I'm just not hip and don't listen to the radio.

Also, It isn't the two songs that pop up when you google for "what it is".

This is going to drive me nuts. Please Hope Me.

Kelly Rowland Work (Put It In)?

Need a bit more. If it was modern pop, it was likely based around a sample, so did the beat or the hook remind you of any other songs you know, most likely from the early 70s or late 60s? Was it about a breakup or a hookup?

Aretha Franklin's classic Rock Steady features the lyric "what it is."

Response by poster: Not the Kelly Rowland track, I stumbled on that as well.

It actually sounds like it could have been a new cover of Rock Steady?

I'll go check if Amerie has anything new out.

Response by poster: Damn it, it is the Kelly Rowland song! It's a remix by the Free Masons.

I know we like to make fun of Yahoo Answers, but...

I love the Internet. Thanks everyone.
