Help me find the song I'm named after.

My parents named me after a song called "Tahiti Tiare". I've been looking for copies of this song for a while and cannot find it. Can anyone help?

I don't know the artist or the tune; I may have heard it only once in my life. It may not actually be "Tahiti Tiare" exactly but that phrase is important.

I'm not particular about the format of the song - vinyl, CD, MP3, whatever. I would just like a copy to share with my family. Thank you.

Could it be "Tiare Tahiti"? MP3s from Amazon are 89 and 99 cents and they can be shared.

Oh goodness, that might be it. I'll send the link to my dad and see if any of that sounds familiar. Thank you.

OK, I just got off the phone with Dad, and he said that the other factor besides the song was an actress on Mutiny on the Bounty apparently named Tiare. I looked at the cast list and there's no Tiare, but there's a character named Tehani.

hmm!

Be prepared to discover you were named after a mistake -- my mother to this day (I'm in my 30's) calls me "Lincoln" because she thought the poem "Winkin, Blinkin and Nod" was "Lincoln, Blinkin and Nod".

LOL, well I know my name isn't exact anyway - according to my dad, it's one part Mutiny on the Bounty, one part Tiare Tahiti, and "then some Tiara and some Bangla".

If ever there was a time I wished for anonymous comments, then this is it, but a friend of mine swears that "Tahiti tiare" is what David Essex is singing in his number one song "Tahiti". Could that be it?
