Seeking Sheets Sold Separately

Where can I buy high quality bedsheets by the sheet, not in sets?

I only need the fitted sheet, but I can't find any sheets that are sold separately. I'd like cotton or modal sheets in 350tc or better. Have you seen these anywhere?

It's for a queen-size bed. I'm in Portland, OR, but buying something online is fine.

I never buy sets, and I've never had a problem finding fitted sheets only at any of the big box stores - Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens & Things, Kohls. Even in much higher thread counts.

Lots of catalog retailers--LL Bean, for example--sell individual sheets.

I like these 600TC sheets from Target, sold separately. Ikea also sells by the sheet, rather than the set, but I'm not sure of their highest TC.

Elegant Linens they were featured in an article in the Wall Street Journal for having very nice handkerchiefs and I remembered their name...

When I bought sheets at Fred Meyers each sheet was packaged separately. (I think that pillow cases were in pairs, however.)

don't bother with IKEA - nothing there above a sandpapery 180 thread count. Lands End has individual sheets in many colors/patterns/thread counts.

Macy's or whatever should have them. Look in the Calvin Klein Home section at the very least.

I would avoid Target, Kohl's or stores like that if you are looking for high quality.

garnethill.com sells everything separately.

Do you have a Marshall's or a Ross near you? That's where I get all my single sheets, mostly because I never have enough patience to save up for a nice set.

I just bought some separate sheets and I found the best way was to go to Macys and/ or Bloomingdales, note down what I liked, and then buy them on ebay - usually for about half the price. Another option is to hit up an outlet mall - most have a Ralph Lauren store which sell good quality sheets as separates.

If you have a TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or AJ Wright (they're all owned by the same company) check there, like bibliowench said.
I get almost all my sheets there- and it's usually the store brands from department stores. Last time I went they had sheets in the JC Pennys house line, as well as ones Kaufmans used to carry before they were bought by Macys. Just jot down the brand names you'd be willing to get- since they also had the walmart line which are godawful and feel like sleeping on a sheet of wax paper.

Although I have to say, I got a bed-in-a-bag from Target and LOVE the sheets that came with it. Soft as can be, nice high thread count, have held up well in the wash, everything one could hope. (however, this was their "high end" in-house brand, I can't vouch for their cheaper stuff. they do have awesome clearance sales on bedding, though, when the new lines come out. I got my set for almost $200 off.)

Try the sort of store that sells cloth by the yard, and ask them about hemming it for you.
