Advice on becoming a tax preparer (in the US)?

I'm thinking about becoming a tax preparer to make some extra money. I have no idea how to go about it, which company to align with, etc. Looking for advice, experiences you've had, etc. I'm in Arizona, FWIW.

Look up H&R Block income tax course availability in your area. I took the course a few years ago, and everyone who passed it (which wasn't hard) and wanted a job as a seasonal tax preparer, got hired. I didn't make a ton of money, but it was worth my time.
