Windows Won't Restore When Logged Into Citrix. Why?

I have to log in to Citrix Metaframe for my corporate email, but restoring the Lotus Notes windows from a minimized state in that environment doesn't work like it's supposed to. Why?

Details: Logging in to Citrix Metaframe via MSIE 7.0. Running EAA Notes R6 (Lotus Notes) from there, which loads up through a "Client for Java Connection Center" window. I'm running WinXP and have a perfectly fast network connection.

When I minimize the Lotus Notes window (and the Instant Messenger Buddy List) to the taskbar, the windows do not restore to the desktop as they're supposed to. Most of the time they'll restore then drop back to minimized in a blink, other times they'll restore then drop back after a beat or two. Eventually (after a half dozen plus) attempts to restore (through clicking, alt-tab, right clicking, etc) will bear fruit, but this behavior is annoying at best, counter-productive at worst.

Any suggestions?

I've had windows so display similar behavior with other apps. It usually seems to happen when the CPU is taxed, or there isn't enough memory, or explorer.exe needs to be killed and restarted.

Surely corporate IT has imposed this environment on you, I'd make them support it.

Couple of suggestions:

- download/install one of the Metaframe presentation clients. I've run into what can best be desscribed as 'wackiness' with the Java client (programs not loading/closing properly, not mapping in my printer or drives being the most common.)

- Check your login page (before you login) for 'Advanced Options' and set the 'Reconnects to...' option to None.

Hope this helps!
