Magazine subscriptions from the US, if they don't specifically offer international subscriptions?

How can I subscribe to a US magazine from the UK if they don't specifically offer international subscriptions?

I'd really like to subscribe to Fortune Small Business but for whatever reason they don't offer an international subscription. Subscriptions to their regular Fortune magazine is no problem and plenty of places offer it.

Is there any way I can get hold of FSB, without paying an arm and a leg obviously? I would have thought there would be some service/company that would "mail on" subscriptions for a small fee?

You could pay for a mail-forwarding service, basically a mailbox where they bundle up and send your mail on to you at whatever interval you want. there appear to be tons of services that do this, you just subscribe at your US address.

You can also get most of the content online here.

I just called FSB subscriptions (1-800-777-1444) and asked if they had a suggestion as to how a person in the U.K. could subscribe. The sales agent: "I don't know. I've never had that question before."

Maybe there is indeed a service for "mail forwarding" a U.S.-only magazine subscription -- and some savvy MeFite will have the answer.

Best answer: Mailboxes Etc./The UPS Store and competitors do this.

A Google answer with several different options.

You're certainly not the first American to go overseas. Diplomats and soldiers have this need all the time, but at least they have APO/FPO addresses which are considered part of the US mails. Apparently Fawcette used to do this but they went under last year.

Here's a few more at a website that has a sorta-active forum for expats (anywhere).

In any case, the terminology you're looking for is mail drop service.

Check Borders in Charing Cross Road - it has a huge international magazine section and may stock it, or, if not, might get it in for you if you place a regular order for it.
