St. Louis psychiatrist recommendation?

St. Louis psychiatrist referral: I need a referral to an excellent St. Louis-area psychiatrist who specializes in depression and anxiety.

A friend of mine is finally interested in going to a psychiatrist to help her deal with her depression and/or anxiety. But she'd like a referral from someone, or else she won't feel comfortable making the first appointment. I'd appreciate any suggestions you can give.

I've had good luck at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Insistute.

Also, studies have shown that how you get along with your therapist matters as much as what type of therapy you receive. If your friend isn't comfortable with the therapist...try different ones until she finds one she has a good rapport with.

All I know is that I would NOT recommend Dr. Paul Packman. Please don't send anyone to him.

I recommend Paul Sheffner (out in St. Charles) and I absolutely do not recommend Mohinder Partap.
