Finding a reliable tour guide in Reykjavik

I've looked at most of the ask mefi questions on Iceland, but would anyone have good suggestions for reliable tour guides in Reykjavik? My family and I are going for four days, and we want to make the most of our trip without worrying about getting place to place. I'm not a big fan of tour groups, but I also don't want to do the legwork for finding out where everything is and how to get there.

What kinds of tours are you looking to do?

I can't remember the names of the tour companies, but when I visited, I arranged tours through the front desk at the Reykjavik City Hostel. A couple were with tour buses full of people (but to places I wouldn't have been able to visit otherwise). One fantastic tour was in an all-terrain vehicle with just one other guy and a driver who took us up and down volcanic hills.

It looks like Hosteling International Iceland has a Tours webpage, but I think it's geared towards booking through the hostel itself.

I found Reykjavik Excursions to be reliable; they run tours to the main tourist destinations around Reykjavik. They can be booked from the main bus station and lots of the hotels/hostels and pick up from a number of points around the city.
