Which heavy metal bands have umlauts in their names? Apart from Mötley Crüe and Motörhead, of course.

Ümlaut has an umlaut, but I don't know if you can categorize them as metal.

Free jazz saxaphonist Peter Brötzmann played with Last Exit, which is considered metal by some people's standards.

From Neal Stephenson's Zodiac, there's "Pöizen Böizen". They were described as "not bad, for a 2 umlaut band."

have you seen jon udells' awesome screencast about the evolution of wikipedia?
just by coincidence, the page he follows is the wiki rockdots page (which i guess has since been renamed "heavy metal umlaut").
it's very much worth a look.

Bondcliff - Deathtongue! Awesome, I was totally going to post that. How about Spinal Tap? I just wish I knew how to code an umlaut over the "n" like I'm supposed to...

There are LOTS more than are listed on the wikipedia page. Here are a few:

Aäkon Këëtrëh, Ampütator, Förgjord, Godüs, Gravewürm, Hangöver, Helcaraxë, Infernäl Mäjesty, Kältetod, Lüger, Moëvöt, Mütiilation, Nehëmah, Pyöveli, Stürm Kommand, Ülfengard...

Check the Metal Archives in a couple of days (they've run out of monthly bandwidth again) and you should be able to find tons more!
