What's this bug?

What is this bug (1.5MB, 2848 x 2136 JPEGs), and should I be worried that I'm starting to see them in our home?

I've never seen these bugs before, but have noticed more than a dozen in the past week. All but one have been found in the kitchen, though none have been found in food. They don't seem to fly—at least I can't get them to fly when disturbed. What are they? Should I be worried about an infestation? I live in Stockton, Calif., if that helps. Thanks!

Looks like a carpet beetle (5th one down)
