Is it lights out?

I was just replacing the driver-side headlight in my 2001 BMW 325i, fumbled, and dropped the burnt out bulb into the engine area. Right now, it's resting at the bottom, out of reach, but not visibly near anything else. I can't easily get to it to remove it. Will it work itself out and I don't need to worry about it, or do I need to find a way to get it out before I drive again so it doesn't do damage?

Best answer: I have magnet on a metal rod that I use to get things like this. You should also be able to get it from the bottom.

In all reality, it is probably fine, though when it is ejected from the vehicle it could become lodged in someones tire.

I would try my best to get a coat hanger, or some object to push it to an opening, or somehow get it out of the car for good karma.

Best answer: Duct tape on a stick.

In case anyone else see this, I keep one of these around the house for occasions like this when stuff falls into places too small to reach down into.
