San Diego Hotel

Does anyone have a favourite hotel in San Diego? We'd like to be in an interesting neighbourhood; don't care about the beach or shopping that much. (This is a semi-followup to this question.)

OK, I don't know if I would call it "favorite" - but I stayed at the Westgate for business once, and it was pretty nice, along the order of a small, elegant European boutique hotel. It was a block or two from the Gas Light quarter, and they provided free limo service to the airport or area attractions. The staff was excellent, the room was large and distinctively appointed, and the hotel had a nice afternoon high tea. It's a little on the frou-frou side, but not stuffy.

Westin Horton Plaza is a wonderful hotel, and is right in the middle of everything.
