Do you know of any good MySQL and PHP visitor logging scripts?

I have access to MySQL and PHP via my hosting package. I would therefore like to run my own stats logging program. I haven't liked the ones I've tried already though. But is there any other good ones that might suit? Bonus points if they're free.

Mint: looks lovely, requires javascript, great support, surprisingly slow, active community, $30.

I just installed Mint last night, and so far I can vouch for what matthewr said. (Although it doesn't seem slow to me.)

Anyway, I like it, although $30 seems pretty steep.

I'm using PowerPhlogger. Pretty basic, but works well enough for me and it's free.

What didn't you like about the ones you tried.

Response by poster: I found TraceWatch ugly and Stalytics not totally compatible. Am checking out your suggestion now.

Best answer: one of the best ones around which is incredibly easy to use and set up is Slimstat by Shawn Imnam.

Not only does it use MySql but includes the IP to address tables as well. It has some handy features and details visitor information through the usual daily/weekly/monthly stats by hits/IPs/visits. You can also screen out ping services, bots and other known IPs in an easy to use interface.

The install script is as easy as uploading all the files to your server, running the html install and placing a line of code on the relevent pages you want to track.

Best of all it's free.

You know it probably doesnt matter now the thread is well over - but just to correct a couple of things.

Slimstat is based on ShortStat. Shortstat was programmed by Shawn Inman who funnily enough is the owner and creator of the Mint stat program mentoned above.

The features are comparable, and for my money - Slimstat is just as good except it doesn't support an API environment. This to me is pretty silly, because if you know how to use an API, you surely know how to query the mySQL database yourself to get the information you want.
