How do you perform a three-way call in toronto?

I've tried googling this on several occasions. I know that it's possible from a regular phone line to do a three-way call by calling one person, once they answer pressing flash, and then dialing * -something and the third person's phone number...
except i don't know what the 'something' is.
any help would be appreciated :)

Best answer: *71. (Googled for "Bell Canada three-way calling", FWIW.)

I just:
1. call the first number, get that person on the phone,

2. then tap the "hook" or "flash button" once which gets you a dial tone,

3. then phone the second number, get the second person on the phone

4. then tap the "hook" or "flash button" again, which gets the first person hooked into the call with the second person.

... in Toronto or anywhere in Canada I'm pretty sure it works like that probably with most phone companies. I think it's a generic method.
