Anyone know a good place to watch World Cup games in Italy -- and not Italy games?

Seconded. Just go into any bar in Rome. Italy is fanatical about football.

If you're in Rome, there's six megascreens in squares and streets around the city - from this link:

Piazza di Cinecittà, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, Piazzale Aldo Moro (all’Università La Sapienza), Via Ostiense (davanti agli ex Mercati Generali), Viale dei Gladiatori, il Pontile di Ostia Lido

Other cities made similar arrangements, some mentioned here.

Here's a list by city of all bars/cafes etc. with satellite tv that will also be showing the matches.

Have fun!

Frankly I think you'll have a harder time not finding a pub with the games on, but there's Druid's Rock & Druid's Den and well as 90% of the bars in Campo dei Fiori.

This latter option I only gave as you specified the non-Italy games else I'd say be careful - Saturday night's Italy-USA game resulted in a mini riot later that night due to drunken fans of both squads. That was a load of fun to run from in stillettos.

It may actually be difficult to find someplace to watch the USA-Ghana game, since it's simultaneous with the Italy-Czech game.

Finnegans (on Via Leonina, parallel to Via Cavour) has separate rooms so they'll probably be showing both games. Give 'em a call to doublecheck.

Otherwise you could go to an American owned bar: Sloppy Sam's (my local for oh so many years) or The Drunken Ship.

If you want big projected TV (rather than lots of small TVs) The Druid's Rock (mentioned by romakimmy) has one if memory serves. As does a wee Italian bar in Trastevere on Via della Scala (can't remember the name), on the left as you come up from Via Garibaldi. Also in Trastevere check out Artu (Piazza S. Egidio) and my beloved Stardust (has projector... but maybe no telly!).
