I want to be able to be on a phone call with doctors office and then

switch to my calendar on my phone to be able to check dates. I have android moto which I really like. Older fellow here so break it down like Barney for me. I ve tried several times and either cannot get back to my calendar or I loose the connection. What am I doing wrong. Thanks...

Start your call on speaker phone

Place your phone flat on the table so you don't have to deal with any fumbling

Next you will need to get back to your home screen. Do you have gesture nav turned on or do you have 3 button nav?

If you have gestures, swipe up from the bottom of the screen while the call is going and then open your calendar app.

If you have 3 nav buttons (look like 🔻🔴🟥) tap the 🔴 in the center and then open your calendar app.

Do anything you need to do in the calendar

To get back to the call, swipe down from the top of your phone and then tap the block that shows your ongoing call

phunniemee types faster than I do. She is 110% correct, this is how to do it.

On my oldish android moto G7, there's a little notification icon in kind of the upper middle left of the screen when I'm on a call while looking at a different app on my screen.

In addition to the right answer, I'll also ask you how you switch apps in general? On the older models of phones, there used to be 3 buttons at the bottom for Back, HomePage, and List the Open Apps. Those are the shapes that phunniemee describes above. Newer phones don't use the buttons, but they want you to swipe this way or that to make the same actions happen. I can never remember those swiping directions, but I found out that you can put the buttons back on the bottom of your screen.

All android phones are slightly different in how to reach the setting, so you can search for Navigation in the settings, or this article might help.

To learn more about gesture navigation or turn on/off gesture navigation:

On a Moto Android if you swipe down from the top two times you should see a gear and a power button at the bottom right of the screen.

Tap the gear, this will open up settings

You should see the word settings at the top of this screen and a search bar. Type GESTURE into the search bar.

The first result should be gesture navigation. Tap that

I think you should only have two options on this page to let you choose either gesture nav or 3 button nav. If you want to learn more about gesture nav, there's a "see how this works" link by the gesture nav option. Tap that and click through the learning panels!

This isn't about your question at all but I'm on a tear now. You know about chop chop flashlight, right? It's my absolute favorite Moto feature and it may sound silly but it's the #1 ride or die feature for me that has kept me brand loyal all these years.

"Chop" your phone in the air 2 times quickly like you're hammering a nail with the edge of it (in the air, obviously don't hit anything with it). This turns the flashlight on and off no matter what else you're doing.

Don't have to fumble with any buttons or anything! So useful when I'm out walking with gloves on and the dog does a poop in the dark, or I drop medicine, or any other thing I need light FAST and NOW.

Response by poster: phunniemee...yes I do know about that feature. I love it. I've also just discovered three finger screenshots.

Take some time to practice it with a friend on the other end of the line. Much less pressure.
