I spilled beer on a book...

I spilled beer on a favorite book. The book is just bookboard for the cover and book cloth for the spine and a little around the side. What's the best way to clean the book cloth / book board to make it look normal again?

I dried the beer up as quickly as I could with a drier, and its dry, now the book cloth seems stained darker as does the book board. Can you help me out? thanks.

Earlier book vs. beer thread. I would try some of these typical beer stain tips on a similar sample cloth or board before I tried it on the book.

I didn't mean to sound corrective - I found it while looking up beer stains. Good luck with your book!

Oh! And I just remembered - if and after you get the stain out dryer sheets placed inside the cover (or pressed onto your book with other books sandwiching it) will get the smell out for you.

I've done this for musty books and it works great.

Sometimes when I'm not able to get something I really love completely back to it's original form I will convince myself it's better in its new incarnation. It has a history now. A story to tell.
