Best web clipper that isn't Evernote?

With Evernote's demise, I am at loss for what to use as a web clipper. Can you help me figure out a new app to use?

The most important functionality that Evernote provided me was the ability to web clip because it was how I did a lot of my web archiving work and maintaining my giant recipe collection. I'm now at a loss for how to proceed, especially because managing bookmarks is too difficult for my attention span right now. The search and tag options are really important to me as well, since my memory is pretty shitty and it's difficult to go for it without a good file and search organization system.

I use both Chrome and Safari, and on the Mac OS ecosystem. I would prefer some straightforward answers that are compatible for a Mac OS (desktop) and iPhone (mobile). Please do not ask me to watch Youtube videos!

For recipe clipping specifically, I'm a huge fan of the Plan to Eat app.

For other web clipping, Notion has been extremely helpful though it has a bit of a learning curve.

I came here to recommend Plan to Eat for your recipes as well. I've used it forever and it is really great. It has a clipping extension for Chrome (and maybe other browsers).

For recipes, Paprika is fantastic.

Seconding Paprika.

Paprika has a very good web clipper. I have transitioned to using Mela for my recipes, though. The desktop web clipper is not quite as convenient as Paprika's but I prefer the overall interface.

You might consider Joplin. It works on Mac, Windows, Linux - it also has a nice web clipper! You should be able to clip pages on mobile by using the 'Share' feature in browsers to send it to the iOS app. Syncing can be handled through Nextcloud, OneDrive, or a few other options.
I do have most of my recipes stored and tagged in it.

Best answer: https://obsidian.md/ It is by far the best note taking/bookmark/web clipping tool available right now.

There are multiple web clipper extensions and plugins that work with it. There is also a recipe grabber. That isn't exhaustive, either. There are more and something will probably agree with you.

That said, Obsidian may require more initial setup than you are willing to do. It's not too tough, especially if you're willing to pay for convenience rather than setup syncing and whatnot yourself, but it's definitely more involved than just downloading an app and linking it to your email.

Best answer: Seconding Joplin and noting that not only is there the web clipper which they make, there's also a handy plugin called MarkDownload, which better clips selected text ready to paste with links, section formatting and all.

For recipes I really like the speed and ease of CopyMeThat for phone and desktop. It even gets recipes from many 'copy protected' recipe pages and blogs.

Can someone briefly explain the "demise" of Evernote? Mine is still working apparently. (I do know about the pricing change in the last couple of years.)
