WMA in GarageBand 3?

I swear I saw an Apple demo where they just dragged WMA files right into Garageband 3. Is this possible?

I have a voice recorder that creates WMA files and I want to use them in GB3 to make podcasts.

I even bought Flip4Mac Player Pro thinking that would help.

I CAN convert WMA to AIFF using Quicktime Player (w/quicktime pro)
I think this must mean I have installen Flip4Mac correctly.

But the drag-WMA-into-the-Garageband-window fails, (AIFF files drag in just fine.)

Is this a Flip4Mac issue, a brain dead user issue, a GB3 problem,or what? Hints would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I found this thread that implies it is/was doable simply because it could be done through iTunes. Maybe you were thinking about dragging into iTunes, converting to AAC and then easily getting them into Garage Band.

... I don't know much about Garageband, but try option-dragging the WMA onto the Garageband icon in the dock. Just because an app can open a file format does not necessarily mean that it knows it can. The option-drag forces an application to try opening the file (for better or worse).

Another solution would be to just dump it to AIFF using QuickTime player or Apple Lossless in iTunes.

Oh, that option-drag sounded soooooo good. But it didn't work.
i KNOW I can convert them, but I'd really like to make it easy on myself and avoind extra steps if I can.

Oddly, I can't drag them into iTunes either...
