Garage Band won't let me record longer than 33:16. What can I do?
I'm recording a podcast in Apple Garage Band and I'm having a problem recording past 33 minutes and 16 seconds. The tape head won't extend past 33:16 (which also happens to be 999 on the beat and measure bar). I've tried clicking and dragging it but that doesn't work. Suggestions?

Best answer: Yeah, GarageBand has a recording limit of 999 measures. I think Apple imposed a limit to keep GB an "amateur" app...and move more serious recorders to Logic.
Have you tried recording with Audacity? You're only limited by available drive space.
Or, you can just change the tempo, as birdherder suggests,

Response by poster: Thanks so much! I changed the tempo and will try to do so before recording next time.

The new version of Garageband in iLife '08 doesn't have this limitation.
