Getting to Moreton-in-Marsh tomorrow morning

I am in Stow-on-the-Wold and need to get to Moreton-in-Marsh tomorrow morning by 8:30. None of the taxis I have contacted are available. Any public transit options I’m missing? Buses seem not to run on Sundays. Eep.

It's a long shot but you could join the Cotswolds subreddit and ask there? (I had great, instant advice when I had a similar problem for Winchester.)

If I'm reading this site correctly, there is a Sunday bus (Summer Sunday 801), but it appears that service doesn't start until 11 am. Have you tried this cab service? I like the Cotswolds subreddit idea. Good luck!

At the risk of being ableist, it's 4½mi = ~7km along Fosse Way = A429. What I'd do is walk out to just beyond the Tesco Superstore by 07:00 and stick out my thumb. If I had to be in Moreton then I'd walk. It's a "main" road but looks Roman straight, has a verge and traffic will be light early on Sunday morning. Say Hi to the lady at Donnington Lane.

Walking along the fosse might not be that much fun, people drive pretty fast exactly because its straight. I’ve never tried hitching a ride there but I’d give it a go if the alternative was walking along the road.

Here’s a six-mile walking route that avoids the fosse: https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Stomor/9120 . Would take maybe two hours.

Response by poster: Thank you all! I was able to procure a taxi after all. Phew. But thank you to everyone who weighed in!

I only want to comment on the Wodehouse-ish-ness of those town names.
