Event Planning Website

I'm organizing a simple reunion (not wedding) type event for about 50-100 people. What is the best FREE event planning website nowadays? Mostly I'm looking for a central place to share information and receive responses or inquiries, not much more than that. It would be nice if it had an easy to remember/personalized website address/or domain, but I know that usually requires a fee which I'm trying to avoid.

Honestly, if all the guests are active on Facebook, a Facebook group can work really well for this kind of thing. I hate Facebook as much as the next person but there’s something to be said for fitting into a tool that people are already using anyway.

I am using a Paperless Post "flyer" for this purpose right now. You can essentially create an invitation as a website. You can invite people like a normal evite type thing, but you can also just send people the link to the site. I believe there is no cost unless you want to send it to more than 50 people. People can post comments on an event wall and there is great functionality to post and/or send updates to people that are attending (or other subsets of people). You can also add questions for people to answer when they RSVP. I paired this with creating a custom bit.ly link so it's easy to remember.

You could make a subreddit page and I believe you can even make those private/invite only.

I mean there’s nothing to stop you from using the knot/Zola/etc and just putting up a line that says “hey, this was free to use.”

I *think* that on the knot you can pay a small amount and creat your own domain name that wouldn’t have the knot in it
