Quote on "learning to let go of people who don't love you"

Looking for a long quote by someone famous, about how one of the best things a person can do for themselves is learn to let go of people who don't love them, in order to avoid getting bogged down in anger and make room for those who will. It was by someone famous, perhaps an actor, perhaps Michael Caine, and might have appeared in Portuguese in an FB meme... but none of these clues have led me anywhere... please help!

Response by poster: Wow, it seems that I might have stumped Metafilter! I am beginning to think that this quote does not exist, and that I might have to come up with one myself. ;-)

There was a thread in the Ask Reddit forum recently that featured a similar sort of quote - I think the question was about manipulation, and it was about a week ago. I don't think the long one you describe was in there, but there were another few that I found interesting. Aaaaand, what do you know, I found it!
