WHOOOOPSIE!

stupid question/geek-filter: is there a repository out there for old video game sounds?
I know this is, in the grand scheme of things, a dumb question to even ask, but I just wanted some sound files from classic games that i could download as system sounds for the 'puter. I'm not going to sell them or sample them for 'my next album' or anything, I just want to let my inner geek out a little.
Specifically, I'd like to get the sound of that guy that would come across the side from the bottom of the screen in Mortal Kombat II (I think) that would say "WHOOPSIE!" or "TOASTY!" (i could never tell which) to be my error message. And of course throw in some Mario coin sounds for the default beep or whatever. But you get what i'm going for here. My google-fu fails me here.

Response by poster: faint of butt: i did! I really did! I put in "video game sounds" "video game repository sounds" Video game SFX... all for nothing! I will now drink deep from the cup of humility. But before i do: Thank you so much! 5 stars!

Here's a site I grabbed off of WikiPedia, worked great for the new Legend of Zelda Ringtone set I got on my new phone. Search for 'Video Game Music'
I feel your pain - the Google-fu failed me. A tip, though - WikiFu often prevails when Google-fu fails.

It said "Toastie!" in MK2. "Whoopsie" was what they said in Pong Kombat!
