Looking for a New York City-based attorney with experience in handling housing matters. Experience with Mitchell-Lama cooperatives a plus. Thanks!

I've recommended her on the green before: Catherine Grad. Over 10 years, she guided us through taking over a rent control lease via succession, overturning/reducing trumped capital charges during a condo conversion, defending against low key landlord harassment and false AirBnB allegations, and ultimately negotiating a lease buy-out to leave the apartment. I've had two other friends use her for landlord shenanigan and they also sing her praises. She's not cheap, but she's very thoughtful in how she charges... for instance she would guide us on how to do some things (writing letters, filing paperwork) and then review, rather than charging us for the whole process. I don't know about her Mitchell-Lama experience though, but I know she does a lot of work on the UWS where there's a concentration of them.
