Where to educate my children in Saigon /HCMC?
I am moving to Saigon / HCM city for the last 3 months of this year.
I need advice where/how to educate my 6yr old and 8yr old. I have looked into the large international schools, but for this short period I would prefer if they had a more relaxing time in a less intense environment.
I don't think it would do them or me any good to be together all day everyday. Are there any small schools or private tutors? If I do teach them at home are there any clubs they could join to interact with other children? Does anyone have a piano teacher?
I regard the trip as a great opportunity for my family, and want the children to have as good a time as possible.
After Christmas they are back to their regular schooling.
I need help.

Because, as she said, "I don't think it would do them or me any good to be together all day everyday." She wants them to have something to do, some way to make friends, and an actual experience of the country beyond "Muuuuuum, let's go to the paaaaaark!'. (I'm guessing on the third one).
I have no useful information, but stavrosthewonderchicken lives in Korea, maybe he knows something?

I kind of agree with Delmoi. Why not make their time in Hanoi be their education? Let them learn from the experience of living in a cultural which is entirely different from the one they're currently living in. I really wouldn't be surprised if you checked in with their current teacher to see what the lesson plan covered for the three months they'll be gone, and find it something you can cover yourself in about a month or less.

Response by poster: I figured out the idea that it aint that long and it isnt going to damage their education that is why i aint putting them in the International School. I am looking for real help from people who have been in Vietnam.

Although I did spend a fair bit of time in Vietnam, I also tend to agree with delmoi/Atreides - they'll learn humungous amounts just being there/interacting. That said, in more practical terms, I guess I would sift through some expat sites and their links and email some people.
My strong feeling would be that to meet your criteria, it would be best to hire an english speaking Vietnamese teacher on a per-hour basis. It would not be prohibitively expensive I wouldn't think.
