How to view .dat files

How do I read a winmail.dat file?

Using Lotus Notes a sender from a different company using MS Outlook, via the phone, tells me he sees the attachment as the needed Excel spreadsheet (.xls). Is there something in either Lotus Notes or Outlook that would change the attachment or make it viewable?

Upload it here and it'll decode it for you.

Yeah, this is very annoying. Luckily there's a solution. You want wmdecode.exe which is a drag and drop decoder for those buggers. You can find it here.

Bellman beat me to the punch, but you can download another utility for viewing these files here

If any OS X users have the same problem, use the free TNEF's Enough.
