Chimpanzee shock experiment photo montage

I'm looking for an image that was burned into my memory, but I can't find it. I think it may have been a Life magazine cover, or photo accompanying an article about the experiment. This was likely decades ago, maybe as far back as the 60s. There is a chimpanzee (I think not a monkey) looking directly into the camera.
It is a two shot of just the heads (images are side by side, same size). On the left the animal is shown looking normal, but in both images there is a large electrode sticking out of the top of its head, pointing straight up. On the right, it shows the creature grimacing in pain, lips pulled way back, teeth fully exposed, showing how it feels when the shock is given.
I have only been able to find this image:

which does not have the two shot montage, and I don't remember that giant brace, nor the animal looking so unhappy in the first shot. It seems this image is more recent than the one I seek.
I want to use this image as artwork for Peter Gabriel's "Shock the Monkey" in my iTunes. I am not a creep, nor do I think this is a fun image. It's more illustrative of the unbelieveable ways humans have demeaned and tortured animals for often bizarre reasons.
Thanks in advance for anyone's help, and feel free to just tell me you remember this photo.

There are a bunch of disturbing images in the book The Primates (1965) from The Life Nature Library, one of them is a rhesus monkey with an electrode on its head (scroll down).

Best answer: Rats - I just checked The Mind. It only has the single photo of the chimp with the electrode. It's not the tumblr one nor the one from The Primates. I'm pretty sure it's the one you're talking about, but it doesn't have a "normal" image next to it.
