It just sounds like generic "video intro music" to me, but you might want to email the st louis chess club for a specific answer.

Yes, it sounds like production music--the musical equivalent of a stock photo.

The Shazam app on my phone didn't recognize it, suggesting that it's not a well-known composition. Judging by the production quality, I suspect it could be some free music that came with a consumer-level video editing program. But short of the chess club telling you, I'm afraid you may never know.

Reminds me a little of the soundtrack of Mr & Mrs Smith (the John Powell stuff, not the Joe Strummer stuff)
