Simple iOS Time Tracking app with reminders to log

I'm looking to record notes about my work day, and which projects I worked on. I don't need anything robust at all, just a looking for a simple time tracking app that will remind me to note what I did that day. I don't want to mess with timers and that sort of thing because I'll invariably forget to turn it off, and I jump around between multiple projects all day long. Instead I just need a place to write down a rough summary of how I spent each day and what projects I worked on. I've been using a google doc but I'm hoping an iPhone app exists that does a better job for me, and most importantly, will ping me towards the end of the day to remind me to take my notes.

My simple notes:

Monday
2 hours - Project 1 - Worked on accounts receivable, set up new website, met with marketing department
3 hours - Project 2 - Email marketing campaign design

I use the free version of TrackingTime. It sounds like it may be more than what you need, as it's project- and client-based. I have it installed on my computer, but there's a web-based version as well. The desktop version I use will ping me throughout the day if I have the software open, but I'm not logged in to a project. (I don't know how often it notifies me, but that may be editable.)

But if you don't need to use a timer for projects throughout the day, maybe you want to look into just setting a daily reminder or calendar alarm. Set it for 4pm, for example, each day to remind you to take your notes.

Came in to say the same thing: TrackingTime but probably overkill.

Do you use Slack? If so, I'd probably just create a private #zack-timesheet schedule and set up a reminder at a certain time (e.g. /remind #zack-timesheet "@channel record hours in this channel" every weekday at 5 p.m.) to log hours. I'd get a notification on all my devices, and I can just tap the iOS notification and send a message back to record notes.

The DayOne app can be used like this I think. It's meant for personal journaling, but there's no reason it wouldn't work for a work journal. It'll send you a reminder each day and you won't need to bother with the premium features so the free app will do.
