InDesign reinstall won't work - why?

I recently installed Adobe InDesign CS2, and then had to uninstall it. When I tried to install it a second time, I get the message that I have to "personalize" my software (meaning put in the serial number again). The problem is it never works. All Adobe's help site says is that I have different language versions installed, but I don't. I've cleaned the registry (as far as I know) and searched for any remaining files but to no luck. How do I get it to work again?

Is there anything in:

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe

If so, delete it and try reinstalling.

I would wager that your serial number no longer works, since you used it once already. This happened to me when my hard drive crashed. At that point, the only thing I could do was call them directly. And actually it was easy and quick, and they were nice and polite, which was refreshing.

Echoing visual mechanic, this is exactly the sort of thing that Adobe tech support can and should help you with if you've got a legit copy of the software.
