Best answer: Assuming you're talking about the pen and paper RPG, how about a set of themed dice?

Best answer: Playing Shadowrun means you end up with so. many. D6s. I'm perfectly happy to cart around a D&D dice set in a little pouch or bag, but for Shadowrun, a flat box that can slide into a backpack with the book is better. This looks a little too heavy to cart around (and I'd want some sort of foam padding to keep if from making a racket when filled), but is nice and gift-y. This one is less impressive looking, but would make a super practical dice carrier. Maybe just something simple filled with a ton of mini D6s and decorated for Shadowrun.

Best answer: This may or may not be appropriate, but I found the recent-ish Shadowrun games pretty good.

Best answer: I was also coming here to recommend the video games but also to warn against the first one (Shadowrun Returns) because it's janky as hell.

Best answer: Oh yeah - not sure if you can skip the first one but Dragonfall, the middle installment, is definitely the best of the three.

Best answer: Do they already own all the books? The extras? I have this box-set and I really like it.

Or, if you have steady hands, and they don't need a gift that's a surprise, you could offer to paint in the dots on their favorite dice. Shadowrun is known for it's "roll a whole block of dice" mechanics, which is super fun, but picking out all the 5-6's and 1's can get time consuming. I painted all my D6's so that the 1 dots are in red, and the 5-6's are in purple. After I roll 15-20 dice at once, I can easily pick out all my successes and failures. Some people don't want anyone else touching their dice, and that's ok, but it can't hurt to offer, perhaps?
