iOS calendar not syncing all Google calendar events

I have my own Google account and a shared one with my husband. I have my iOS calendar app set to sync with both Google calendars. I have several events from the shared calendar on my iOS calendar, but there are several missing. Those missing events all show up on my husband's iOS calendar and in my own Google Calendar app. Why won't they show up in my iOS calendar app?
I have tried:
Going into the Calendar page in the iOS app and puling down to try to force sync
Turning syncing on and off many times
Looking for a pattern such as recurring events vs. one time
Adding my own events (one recurring, others not) from GC app - they still don't show up in iOS calendar
Deleting the entire shared account from my phone and adding it back - the same events reappear that were there before and the same ones are missing that were missing before
My "Fetch New Data" settings as this picture shows are Push toggled on, Fetch and Every 15 minutes. Things I added yesterday are still not showing up.
I am using a 7+ with iOS 10. I've been through all of the syncing troubleshooting that I can find on Google's help pages. They keep sending me to the page with the checkboxes to make sure all of your calendars can be shared and mine are all checked. I don't have a problem syncing some events, so it is not a calendar-wide issue. I am not missing any events from my personal calendar, either.

Response by poster: I have change that setting as well. It was on All Events but I have changed it to two weeks and 6 months and back. I don't care much about old appointments, though. All the events I see missing are in the future.

Response by poster: I gave up on using the iOS calendar app and just use the Google Calendar app full time now.
