Need to stay 2 nights near Queens College in order to take test there, younger woman will be alone and wondering where a safe place might be....I've been to NYC several times but not familiar with Queens....on a budget also....any ideas? Suggestions? All appreciated...
Just to be sure you are aware, there is a Queens College and also a Queens Community College (QCC). The Best Western is closer to QCC -- you could even walk there. But Queens College is about a ten-minute drive, so that's not bad.
If you stay in the Best Western in Bayside, you'll be in a perfectly safe neighborhood. (I lived there about ten years ago.)

Will she be using public transportation and/or taking cabs? Or is she looking to be within walking distance? There is just about nothing to do in the QC neighborhood but if she doesn't need to walk she can stay in a slightly more happening area.
