What to do in Flushing, Queens this Wednesday?
Some friends and I will be in Flushing this week for an event at 7 but will be arriving at 3. We are all in our 20's and want to try some new things How should we spend this free time? Where should we go eat?

I would suggest my beloved Mets, but I think they're playing Wednesday night, not Wednesday afternoon. If you could sneak in for a few innings, I've heard Citi Field is glorious.

Here's my guide to Chinese food in downtown Flushing/Main Street.
Come hungry, and I hope none of you are vegetarian.

PS The warm Savory Cumin Lamb Hand-Pulled Noodles (D1) at Xian Foods are divine.

If anyone is having a heart attack about not being in Flushing to eat at Xi'an Famous Foods, there's always their Manhattan Chinatown location.

Nthing that the correct answer here is to go eat unsual regional Chinese food you can't get elsewhere in the city at one of the malls.
However, of for some reason you are oppossed to/uninterested in excellent Chinese food, you could try checking out the Panorama at the Queens Museum in Flushing Meadows.

Response by poster: Thanks to everyone who answered so far... I was really overwhelmed with all the choices but the links you provided are really helping to narrow it down.
seandq- The "event" I'm going to at 7 is actually the Mets game, so I'll get to see Citi Field in all it's glory.

True but it has very little indoor seating and the atmosphere is just a lot more fun in the Golden Mall location.
mtheshark, let us know where you end up!

In addition to those, other options include excellent soup dumplings at Nanxiang Xiao Long Bao; or for a snack, the amazing noodles at either branch of Xi'an Foods (I'd recommend the one in the Flushing Mall food court, which is a bit cheerier than the Golden Mall). And here's a Chowhound thread devoted to dumplings alone.
