Carnatic (Karnatic?) music on Spotify

I would like to listen to and discover South Indian Classical music (Carnatic / Karnatic music)

I would like to listen to and discover Carnatic South Indian Classical (as opposed to North Indian classical / Hindustani) music. I was hoping people could recommend albums, playlists, artists who are on Spotify that would help me explore this genre.

I tried searching for Ravi Shankar the other day on Spotify, as a similar point of departure. I came up empty. Ravi Shankar, for pete's sake. I will be watching this thread to see if there's some trick I don't know for flushing out world music on Spotify.

Have you seen The Sound of Carnatic?

Spotify has a load of playlists titled "The sound of ...", which are all generated by their (or Echonest's) music categorizing systems. When you're looking for music of a specific genre, they're usually pretty good. Here's what I think is a complete list of all the genres they have.
