Where should I submit my illustration portfolio?

I'm a freelance illustrator. I'm trying to find lists of print publications, web sites, blogs, magazines, and any other outlets that pay (and accept unsolicited submissions). More specifically, I want to find appropriate/welcoming/well-fitting places to submit my portfolio, given the style of stuff I tend to do. Samples below the fold…

I guess the best adjective for what I do is "whimsical"? Animals are a very frequent theme, which is usually most welcomed in children's publications, and I'm not opposed to that. However, I'm also interested in any grown-up outlets that might be sympathetic to this sort of style.

Are there any places that leap to your mind(s) that seem like they might be a good fit?
