Freeware document scanning program for Canon Pixma MG7520?

I'm looking for a good, free, feature-rich, third-party document scanning program that's compatible with the Canon Pixma MG7520 and Windows 8.1. Do you have a recommendation?
I recently got a Pixma MG7520 all-in-one printer/copier/scanner, and I have a fairly significant scanning project in mind for it. The Canon-supplied scanning software is a pain, and I was wondering if anybody out there knows of any better alternatives. I'm looking specifically for freeware that's compatible with Windows 8.1.
I specifically need to be able to scan at at least 600dpi (the printer goes up to 2400dpi so that would be ideal) and I need to be able to scan into uncompressed TIFF. A fairly robust set of options for adjusting document size, automatic naming system, and image output would be appreciated, as would some solid built-in OCR if possible (though that is less important).
Anybody have any recommendations? The Googles are turning up a thick soup of nonsense today.

Canon has its "Canon IJ Scan Utility" that's seems tiny, but may do exactly what you need. It relies on the bloat-ware Canon Image Garden. Maybe look into it.
