Help me find a new favorite bra. *sigh*

My most favorite everyday bras at Target have vanished. Help me find new bras? TMI inside.

My favorite bras from Gilligan & O‘Malley have vanished from Target - I can only assume they are discontinued. They were the perfect everyday bra in my opinion, so this makes me want to set things on fire. Please help me find a suitable replacement!

My requirements:
- full coverage cups. I hate demi bras so, so much.
- smooth, so they don't show under shirts
- no lace or other frivolous adornments. the plainer the better.
- comes in neutral colors
- lightly lined, to tame headlights
- I'm used to underwires, but I suppose I can live without if I must
- straps that can be adjusted to be racerback, regular or whatever (I can give on this if I *must*)
- ideally priced under $20 each
- no special sizing requirements. I wear an average size that is stocked everywhere.

Please tell me such a bra exists ladies of MeFi!

Take a look at Aerie. They don't meet your price requirement, but they often have good sales.

My favorite style was the Ella before it got discontinued, but Sunnie looks like a good replacement.

If you have a Kohl's nearby they usually have a huge selection of bras from many many brands. It's a great place to shop for bras.

I've had good luck with Gap Body t-shirt bras.

Also, this is totally anti-bra-expert, but I recently bought a couple bras from Victoria's Secret and they're are 100% getting the job done. It can be kind of hard to find plain neutral ones in the store, especially if you have other criteria (no demi, convertible straps). But assuming there is stock on hand that meets your specific criteria, they should be able to handle you no problem.

Try the microfiber t shirt bra or the 2pack of cotton t shirt bras at H&M

Best answer: We're in a relationship with the same bra from Target, I think. I keep the paper tags so when I go to buy more I can get the same ones. They're my favorite bra ever. I haven't seen them in my store for about a year but I have bought them at Target.com online since, as recently as a month ago. Hopefully they'll continue to sell them on their website! Best answer: Also if you can't find the perfect bra with convertible straps, I've had plenty of luck with various bra strap converter gadgets. It's only not worked with the very thickest straps, and if you're an average size and not ginormously enboobed like me, most of your bra straps are probably average width.

Response by poster: @the webmistress - I checked the website and I can't find the exact bras I used to buy there either :( This one is the closest thing I can find, but it doesn't have the convertible straps my old ones have.

Nordstrom Rack is another good place to try on a bunch of different bras, mostly in the $15-25 range. I can consistently find Calvin Klein t-shirt bras there which meets all your criteria except convertible.

Best answer: Have you looked at TJ Maxx or Marshalls? It's worth looking at the selection, they may have something that suits your needs. I've definitely bought full coverage, plain, lined-cup bras from there before. Demi-cup haters unite.

The bras I bought weren't convertible, although there may be convertible options (I don't look for convertible straps). I really like the "This is not a bra!" bra from Warners. Meets many of your criteria, just not convertible straps. I don't know if it's widely available in an average size, since I wear a size that isn't often stocked.

I don't know how you feel about WalMart, but both WalMarts in my area have a rack of bras for about $5, and they fit your criteria perfectly. I have three, and they're the only bras I've worn in an age. They have both demi and full cups with various degrees of lining and padding, usually come in an array of neutrals plus one or two patterned options, underwire, convertible regular to racerback, and no weird lace or anything. They don't seem to have them on their website, and iirc they don't even have a brand name on them (mine don't have a brand on the tags, either) but if there's a WalMart by you, I'd walk in and take a look, just in case.

Also, wow, I feel super weird shilling for WalMart, but I really do like these bras, and the $3.96 price tag is hard to pass up.

Seconding Gap Body t-shirt bras. I think some (but not all) have the adjustable straps. They're $36, but it seems like they're always doing 30-40% off all items online, and in thinking about it just now I realized I've been wearing the same ones (like, I haven't bought a new one) since 2011, which is pretty good I think? They meet the rest of your criteria.

Response by poster: Thanks for the suggestions! I think for now I'll go with the close-but-not-quite Target bra and strap converter gadgets. When I've got more time and patience, I'll shop around at the other places and/or wait for sales. I swear this always happens to my favorite things :(

Response by poster: Update: I ordered the similar G&OM bra from Target and hated it. Different fit, different material, shoddier manufacturing. It got sent back. I think my days of buying bras at Target are over :( However, I found a great deal on the Warner "This is not a bra" uh, bra on Amazon. $15 + Prime shipping. The color was a tad darker than I expected and it's a more substantial bra (less flimsy, better quality, I think?) than I'm used to, but it's a comfortable fit, had everything else I wanted and the price was right. Still no convertible straps but maybe I'll have better luck finding those when the weather warms up.
