Help me identify this San Francisco brownie

A few years ago, I ate an incredibly moist, decadent brownie from San Francisco. I was never in SF - the brownies were shipped to my landlady, who then shared some with me. Help me figure out which magical bakery this was.
A few years ago, my landlady had some brownies shipped to her, from San Francisco. These brownies were so awesome and popular, that her boyfriend stood in line for a while, and then mailed them to her in Los Angeles. She said that the bakery almost always has a line out the door.
It was incredibly moist and fudgy -- it was more fudge than brownie. She cut me about a square inch of this brownie and that was enough for me. I couldn't eat any more after that square inch, because it was so decadent and satisfying. I remember weighing the brownies in my hand, and they were HEAVY.
It was wrapped in wax paper. However ... that may have been her boyfriend's way of shipping it to her, and not the bakery's packaging.
Any ideas about which bakery this could have bene?

It does sound like Tartine's brownie, but I haven't had one in years because I resent standing in their line (so petty of me, I know).
