Short-term rental in Florida

A friend of mine and a friend of hers would like to spend 6-8 or 10 weeks in Florida, starting in mid-January until some point in March. Any resources for a relatively cheap stay in/around Orlando or WPB/Ft. Lauderdale? Budget ~$1500 USD per month, total.

My friend and her friend are looking to spend time in Florida specifically to work on their golf games, as both have significant aspirations in terms of careers in the sport. Since it's, you know, cold in Canada in the winter, they're looking to head down south for anywhere from 6-10 weeks and get some extra work in on their games.

They're looking to be around the Orlando area or possibly around West Palm Beach/Fort Lauderdale. Their budget would be about $1500 USD a month, total (negotiable up a bit, but not substantially). Ideally, they'd like two bedrooms, but could deal with one bedroom so long as there's another bed available, even if it's a sofa-bed or something like that. It definitely needs to be furnished. Internet would be grand.

They've looked at some AirBNB listings, but they're mostly too expensive. If you have any other short-term rental resources for the Orlando/WPB/Ft. Lauderdale areas, they'd be greatly appreciated! Thanks very much. :)

VRBO.com has some places that look decent for around that price. A few friends have used that sight with good results. One has booked the same house in Destin, FL, 4 years in a row. Of course, it is basically just a bulletin board, so your results may vary.

I lived in the Sands Hotel for a couple of weeks back in 2010. At that time, they were advertising weekly rentals on Craigslist and I think it was about $200 a week, but that was in the middle of summer. They are on Singer Island, just north of West Palm Beach. It wasn't the greatest place I've ever stayed but it did the job. Memail me if you've got questions.
