Animated short from the early 80s: A pet hippopotamus!
I recall vaguely an animated short that showed occasionally after Doctor Who on PBS. A man had a pet hippopotamus, and all I remember is the narrator saying how the man nursed the hippo through "hippopotamus measles" and "hippopotamus mumps".
There was another cartoon I remember even less of, that had... spiders? And the visual effect of projector film melting. It's not much to go on, but it's entirely possible someone here saw these same animations.
Can anybody tell me a little more about these?
