Unlink picasa albums/picasaweb albums from G+?
October 27, 2013 5:25 PM

I would like my friends & family who are not G+ members (and do not want to be) to be able to view my Picasaweb albums as in the past. I have searched several forums like google's downgrade, but find no definitive answers. If I delete my Google+ profile can I email the link to my friends/family? I do not want to lose my Gmail account.

When you go into an album in G+ Photos, there's a down arrow icon for more options to the right, next to the "Add Photos" button. In this options menu, there's Sharing Options. Click on that to get the sharing options.

In the sharing options, you'll see "Share via link" in the middle of the window. Click on that to generate a URL to access the album. Email your non-G+ recipients this URL; they will be able to see the album at this point, even without G+ access.

I use G+ (my phone automatically uploads photos to my G+ account), and can share photos and albums with family members etc not on G+ by selecting "Share" and then typing in email addresses. These photosets are also only viewable by people with the link.

I did exactly what you are asking. I am trying to remember how. It is possible to use Picasa and not G+ for your photos with your google/gmail account.

Try picasaweb.google.com

Sorry for the multiple responses. I don't think you can ever unlink them from G+, but you can use the Picasa interface as not above. picasaweb.google.com. You can get rid of your G+ account without losing your gmail account. That is done from the Google accounts dashboard.
