Batch Printing from Gmail January 25, 2009 6:15 PM Subscribe
Does anyone know of a way to batch print multiple emails from Gmail? Looking to print 30+ emails and don't want to have to open and print each one. Thanks! posted by Raichle to computers & internet (10 comments total)

Find yourself an IMAP email client (like this one) and set it up with your gmail account. Batch printing should be much easier from an application running in the OS than from the Gmail web interface. posted by kid_dynamite at 6:32 PM on January 25
You can do this with Thunderbird. Set it up to download your Gmail messages using IMAP, then highlight all the messages and press Ctrl+P. posted by helios at 6:35 PM on January 25
Downloading Thunderbird now, thanks for the fast response! posted by Raichle at 6:39 PM on January 25
Hmm.. next problem. All the emails that I want to print are sorted by label in gmail. These labels don't appear to come through in Thunderbird. Is there a way to sort by gmail label in TB? posted by Raichle at 6:46 PM on January 25
There should be a [Gmail] folder in Thunderbird's sidebar, IIRC. Expand that; labels should be listed there along with All Mail and Starred, I believe. posted by trotter at 6:53 PM on January 25
There isn't, just an inbox and trash. Is this because we're doing it with POP instead of IMAP? Adding it as an IMAP account as well now to see what happens. posted by Raichle at 7:04 PM on January 25
Update: IMAP account came with labels as folder, POP did not. posted by Raichle at 7:04 PM on January 25
Is there a way to get the threaded view in TB? posted by Raichle at 7:08 PM on January 25
found this article which is probably the best I'm going to get:

If the Thunderbird thing is problematic, here's a way to simplify it in your browser: hold down SHIFT as you click each thread, and each will open in a separate window. Then just ctrl-tab through each window, print it and close it. Not lighting fast, but if you did this from the beginning you'd be done by now... :) posted by misterbrandt at 7:58 PM on January 27
