Mexican restaurant on a beach in southern Los Angeles?

Trying to find a Mexican restaurant that was on a beach somewhere in southern LA - guessing south of Santa Monica at least. All I remember is that they were not super near anything else (ie not in a strip of other shops / restaurants), was right on the sand (we walked out to the water after eating), and they had phenomenal fish tacos. I'm thinking it was maybe Long Beach or Huntington Beach but google fu is failing me. Please halp.

If you don't get an answer here you might try Chowhound's LA board.

In Santa Monica, we have Perry's Cafe that is literally right on the sand. A cursory search says that they do have fish tacos (and bike rentals if that rings a bell). There are 3 or 4 of these puppies right on the bike path spread along the Santa Monica coastline.

I don't know of anything that matches what you are describing in Venice, Marina Del Rey, El Segundo, or Manhattan Beach so if it is not Perry's, you are right in thinking that it is further south.

Naja's Place in Redondo Beach? My memory may be unreliable but I don't remember it being crammed in with other shops, though it's near the pier. Pretty sure it's within view of the beach if not right on it.

La Playita in Hermosa Beach is next to a little park that's right on the beach.

Response by poster: Found it IRL after driving around a bit. River's End Cafe at the north end of Seal Beach. Thanks everyone for the help.
