Help me name this adorable Boston Terrier puppy!
The dog's human dad-to-be likes short, tough names. But really, we just want some great options when we finally bring him home this weekend! Here's the adorable photo!

That dog is clearly a MENACE! Just look at him! Therefore, you must name him Chupacabra. Chupa for short.

This just in from the dog-dad: preferring one syllable names, or at least names that can easily be abbreviated! These are great, keep 'em coming!

I always wanted to name something Shield Sheafson, the legendary warrior-king from Beowulf. Shield for short.

If it's a Boston Terrier clearly you must name it Fenway.
Or maybe Ted or Teddie, for Ted Williams.

Dogs tend to do better with two syllable names because they're not so easy to confuse with normal words.
Some ideas from my stash of favorite pet names:
Ransom
Rowdy
Danger
Goblin
Outlaw
Judge

I have a 12yo Boston and went with Boston-themed names. She's female, so we did Copley. Some of the male names on the list were Revere and Quincy. Her nickname has always been Bean, so recommend that one for a one syllable name.

I have a 12 year old Boston as well, and the day we rescued him he was clearly an Oscar. The second I heard that snort . . . We've met other BT Oscar's as well, so depending on how you take that. But Bostons FTW -- they are awesome dogs!

BT's are hilarious little dogs, so they deserve equally hilarious dogs. My favorite BT is named Nibbles!
That said, my standard advice is to name him something that means to you. Something from a favorite book, movie, family story, whatever. We named our dog Helo from the Battlestar Galactica series. Although I was also pushing for Marlowe since we love Raymond Chandler.
Also remember that dog names always morph into nicknames...Helo became Helo Monster and often we just call him Monster.

My dad really wanted me to name my terrier Atilla. That's short and tough.
Other similar votes were Thor, Bruce, Brutus, and Samson.
Or maybe Napoleon.
