What other bands have a similar sound to Gotye's State of The Art, Hearts A Mess and Thanks For Your Time?

Inspired by this thread, I searched for some of their older stuff and was surprised by how much I like it. Things I love:

The percussion!
The rhythm!

... Not sure what it is that draws me in to these songs, but I'm in love and want more!

p.s. Their songs Learn A Little Givin' An' Lovin', Somebody That I Used To Know and Bronte aren't really in the style I'm looking for.

Well, Bjork. hyperballad, Joga, Human Behavior, maybe something from Medulla.

Maybe some madlib or madlib.

Reminds me a bit of Dead Can Dance, or maybe Yello.

What about those songs do you like? To my ear, those are all pretty different, which is something I like Gotye for.

I lump State of the Art in with a couple of Shit Robot songs... Finish What You Start and Take 'Em Up.
