Creating an android media center.

How can I turn android into a kickass media center?

I recently purchased an awesome mini android PC running Ice Cream Sandwich. I've got it hooked up to my TV with some basic apps (pandora, netflix, youtube), but now I turn to the hivemind for suggestions on how to take it to the next level. I've already seen Plex, but I don't keep much media locally anymore, so I'm looking for good streaming apps for music, tv, movies, radio, etc.

Tune In is fantastic for radio.

Plex does lots of streaming too 200+ channels (that's what Plex calls online streaming sources) but you need to have a server running somewhere or a friend that will let you connect to theirs via myplex.com.

Disclosure : I'm the founder of Plex.

If you have an Android phone, DroidMote is a good way to control your MK802 without having to use a full mouse and keyboard. Also wireless mini keyboard/mouse combos like this are nice for HTPCs in general and should work well with the MK802. As for media apps, for podcasts I like BeyondPod.

I really like iheartRadio on my tablet, but mostly because you don't have to sign in or create an account with them. I can get local stations as well as my favorite 80's stations too.

Every time someone asks about media on mobile devices I always recommend SubSonic. You set up a server on your PC and install the client on your Android device. You can then stream your entire music library to your phone. Works both over the internet and on a LAN, though you use different configurations. Both my fiancee and I have access to over 180GB of music everywhere there's an internet connection.
